Synopsis: : A Washington, D.C. reporter faces a possible prison sentence for outing a CIA agent and refusing to reveal her source.

Review: I have been sitting on this review for a while. I watched this film a while back and did not do a review on it because I was not sure what to think, especially at the end of the film which I will not spoil. To be perfectly honest I am not sure if the main character is suffering from some kind of mental illness. The horrific torture she puts herself through in order to not reveal her source is weird and don’t get me started on the source of her info. Make no mistake this movie defiantly told a story and left me totally perplexed by what I saw in this film.

Some times it was painful to watch Kate Beckinsale suffering so much in this movie. She is such a classy lady and the situations she was put in this film was awful, just awful to watch. I am not sure if this is what you would call a WIP or ( women in prison ) movie since Kate Beckinsale is in jail a lot in this film. Yes, she is suffering in this film. Being away from her spouse for so long causes a deep rip in her relationship. She is on the razors edge of losing everything she has worked for in her entire life.

She social engineers every one for her master plan but is it worth it? Needless to say, nothing is what it seems. Of course it never is with CIA movies. Some times she plays the part of the martyr. But she is also being vilified as a traitor to her country. Is that justified? Maybe? I don’t know. At all costs and I mean all cost! She keeps her source a secret. My goodness if the characters in this movie knew who the source was! She seems to be destroying lives with her antics. She is most proud to be nominated for an award for journalism. It fuels her to continues this plan of hers.

Alone in jail

This film was perplexing to say the least. I feel sorry for her family for having to put up with all of this. Especially her child. This film is shot well. It really show how a very wealthy and well off woman is reduced to the bottom of the barrel. Wearing the clothes of a guilty woman. Treated as though she was some kind of convict. Kate Beckinsale is living like a true bottom feeder in this film and it was awful to watch. For what this film is, it was an alright CIA movie.
