Review: The Evil Emperor returns from the dead and raises a new fleet of planet killing ships to once again rule the galaxy.
Daisy Ridley did everything she could to make her role work and I find that very respectable. She has endured so much criticism and still gave the best performance she could. This shows that she is truly dedicated to the art. Her love her the arts is the reason why she is apart of this website. Thank you Daisy Ridley!
As the creator and writer of this website, I have been asked many times by people all over the world to critique and help with their fan fiction scripts. That's exactly what this is, fan fiction. The same logic, the same pacing, the same rehashed movie dialog, and the same typical movie tropes. The Star Wars episode 9 film in my head was better than what I got. Even worse, there is a certain Canadian Vader fan film maker who is trying to “sell” people on the idea that this is not a bad film. I noticed that there is a fanboy “high” that some people experience where they see a film and overly liked it to the point of borderline insanity and say that people are not “true” fans of the series if you didn’t hate the Last Jedi ( a sorry excuse for not admitting this is not a good film). This happened with the movie Iron Man 2 (2010). Many fanboys left the theater saying the action was better but after about a month, the “high” came down and they didn't feel as strongly about the film as they did before. Seeing grown men in their 30s acting like this is very embarrassing.
The cinematography, lighting, color, are all done very well. The CGI is very questionable. They did what they could with Carrie Fisher and I appreciate that. This film also breaks much of the established canon. Much like X-Men The last stand (2006), this film is a bad end of a trilogy. J.J. Abrams does not uphold the quality of the Disney brand and subverts much of the Last Jedi. Many Rise of Skywalker apologists will place blame on others rather than look at screen play writing in general. This movie adds way too much of what we did not want to see. We are given way too many new characters I did not ask for instead of developing older characters created by J.J. Abrams. I still don't know who the Knights of Ren are or who Snoke is besides a clone. The Emperor is back without any explanation of any real kind. This is what happens when you ignore previous installments in the franchise. So far this is the worst Star Wars film yet. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars franchise then watch this film for closure. It's good to move on to newer Star Wars series with a fresh start and new directors. Like Kylo Ren says “Let the past die”.
