The top 10 British Actress movies
Score: 9/10
Director: Francis Lawrence
Stars: Natalie Dormer, Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Moore, Michelle Forbes, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth
Synopsis: After the event of Mockingjay part - 1, Katniss Everdeen and the rebellion face a new challenge, winning the war and the reward of total freedom. Her adversary, President Snow will stop at nothing in order to maintain absolute power, but in this war torn world nothing is what it seems.
Review: Natalie Dormer is pretty hard core in this film. She is a total warrior. I typically go for the more sophisticated British lady, but in all out war fare a woman’s got to do, what woman’s got to do. Play time is over. Go big or go home. I actually liked all of the planning and strategy. This is a fictional world but all the actors do such an amazing job that you can’t help but get pulled into this movie world. The wide screen cinematography is pretty good. I like the way the camera person walks with the group making it seem like you are walking with them. The action shots are incredible.
Is it me or does Katniss look like Jyn Erso from Star Wars ROUGE ONE? Its a good look, I really like it a lot. Tactical brunets giving powerful war speeches to fuel a rebellion. I like how every character has something to offer. No damsels in distress here. If you are a human with two working arms and legs, pick up a weapon and start shooting the enemy. This is more of a post apocalyptic world, a theater of war. There is also the state of mind being to win the war and then rebuild the society if the form of democracy. Tearing down the old world and then replace it with a new world.
President Alma Coin knows how to be the soft, caring, affirmative, and a strong leader, all the while playing every one like a chess piece for her hidden agenda like any true politician. Seriously, well done with this character. I feel like it adds some depth to the character and the story. Here nothing is what it seems and the story isn’t just a simple dichotomy of black and white. It adds some human psychology in the form of greed for power and control. Showing how this character uses the tools of social engineering at her disposal to achieve her own personal goals. Flying too close to the sun?
There is a lot action in this film. It’s a long movie. A lot of bang for your buck. There are many different ideologies in this film. This film has many layers to it and in some ways it’s a cautionary tale about absolute power. Bottom line, this movie is great. One of my top picks for an action film.
